The Buen Retiro Park or the Park of the Pleasant Retreat is the major park of Madrid. It is the most famous park in Madrid having a large area of 1.4 km or 350 acres. Buen Retiro Park is located at the edge in the center of the city nearby the Puerta de Alcala. This is the best park worth to visit during your Madrid travel. Madrid summer travel is considered pleasant and more conducive to summer outings within the city than other cities in other parts of the world. The summer streets are alive with activity during the early part of the summer season which starts from June to the early July in this city. Everyone enjoys a warn night and a days touring galore with out the high temperature.

From July to the very end of the season that is August, some consider it already very unpleasant to be gallivanting around the Madrid streets in broad daylight. Though, tourist from New York, Houston, Washington, Philadelphia and Dallas to name a few may consider it still cool and cooler compared to these places.

Sightseeing early in the morning until before 12 is much recommended for those who can not bear the summer heat. Madrid Museums are also the best place to hit when the temperatures started to go up as high as 40 degrees centigrade. Museums are usually air conditioned and a much better place o stay and getting to know Madrid.

Madrid Terrazas is one of the most famous places to hang out while eating out. Famous people usually spend summer evenings in the terrazas in Pintor Rosales and Paseo de Castellana. Plaza de colon is great during summer. Terrazas kicks in the later part of the evening usually 9:30 to 10 pm so better make most of your day before going to enjoy a nights’ drink here.

Aqua Parks are also a great place to be when you hit Madrid City. Aquopolis Villanueva de la Canada opens from 12 pm to 8pm for only 13 to 16 euros and 9 euros per child is one water destination among many that dotted the city.

I am searching and looking for something different this summer vacation and it suddenly hit into my mind the stunning beauty of Madrid City. I am confused and eager to discover and planning to take a travel to Madrid. Madrid downtownLeaving something for an adventure memory could only be happened if I will take my great excursions to Madrid City. I am now looking for several tips in my itinerary of activities to make my Madrid travel visit very special. I am very much interested in Madrid attractions and Madrid history. I am a party goer and I used to party late at night and I just discovered that Madrid nightlife is very energetic and locals is very entertaining.

In my Madrid travel, I am looking forward to visit and must try to visit the Plaza Mayor Tapas which is one of the great historic settings that has certainly the best selection in all Madrid of Tapas and El Rastro is a line of twisting street that pass through the Madrid part with the oldest residential and this network streets surround the market. This El Rastro open air market in the early morning in Sunday has offered almost everything for everyone who takes a visit such as looking for a souvenir for your friends and family and something for yourself. And I am even interested to visit the Madrid museums that speak its history that will surely capture my senses. Madrid offers the largest collection of the world of Picasso’s work of the most popular Spanish artists. Another thing that interest me most is taking a Madrid cable car that will take you in the south side of Madrid and view the city from a most distinctive viewpoint. This is one of the convenient ways in reaching out the center of biggest park in Madrid, other Madrid attractions such as Madrid Masters, Theme Park and Zoo and Casa de Campo.

This is one of the interesting ways that I don’t want to miss to visit Madrid this summer vacation. I will make sure that I will take a chance to try to visit some other places aside from the attractions that I have mentions above. I know that I can do it now with my eagerness and determination.

  • Almudena Cathedral – it is a cathedral of Madrid for more than 100 years in existence and Pope John-Paul II finally consecrated the cathedral in 1993. The Almudena Cathedral interior is very modern and modest with 76m wide and 104m long and the diameter of the central dome has 20m. The building is located closest to the Royal Palace.
  • Templo de Debod – it is an amazing monuments of Madrid that you can found in the city center in parquet de la Montana. This temple of authentic Egyptian was built during 4th century B.C. in the Debod village nearby Philae, the island of sacred temple. This temple was devoted to the gods of Isis and Amon.
  • Las Ventas – it is a magnificent bullring of Madrid that is renowned to be one of the most significant in the world that a visitor can visits and see fights by greatest matadors. The bullring consists of a five gates in which the bulls get in the arena. The Big Door or Puerto Grande is the most admired and it is exit door to be used by winning matadors that won the fight. It has eight corrals that enclose the arena.

Puerta del Sol

Never miss Puerta del Sol which means ‘Gate of the Sun. This is Madrid’s busiest places. This is the middle of the radial network and the location of the famous clock which signals the start of the celebration of New Year and the partaking of the Twelve Grapes.

El Rastro de Madrid or el rastro or most is the open air ‘flea market’. It is situated along Ribera de curtidores and Plaza de Cascorro and held during the year and every Sunday from 9 in the morning until 3 in the afternoon.

The Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum is the home of the finest art collection that only Madrid can boast of the collections from Picasso, Mondrian, Duccio, Carpaccio, Lucas Cranach, Van eyck, Van Gogh, Kirchner, Klee and Hopper.

Reina Sofia is also the home of the modern art. Expect a set of perfect modern art collection with Picasso’s with the most important piece. It is open from Mondays to Saturdays 10 in the morning to 9 in the evening and during Sundays from 10 in the am to 2:30 in the afternoon.

The Plaza Mayor is for me considered as a Spanish icon made during the period of Habsburgs. It is located just a few minutes away from Puerto del Sol. This is the place for bullfights, markets, public executions and soccer; in short it is the witness of many historical events and standing at the middle of the place or taking pictures of it is already a moment to remember about in your Madrid travel. Paseos del Prado and El Escorial are also must-see attractions.

The city of Madrid Spain is known in the country being dominated with various tourists coming from all over the world. Puerta del Sol—the word Puerta means got. The word historically got during the 15th century since it was designated as the main gat of the city.
